In my own little corner
When I was putting Annie to bed this evening, for some reason one of the songs Leslie Ann Warren sang in the 1965 version of Cinderella came to mind: "In my own little corner in my own little chair, I can be whatever I want to be..." You know, when she twirls around her room, escaping her hard life in the thoughts of her imagination? I wondered if Annie ever thinks about things she'd like to do--daydreaming of things she'd like to do or be? I wonder.
God reminded me then that someday Annie will stand to greet her Bridegroom, Jesus, and be dressed in a white gown just like Cinderella. 1 John 3:2 says, "Beloved, now we are children of God; and it has not yet been revealed what we shall be, but we know that when He is revealed, we shall be like Him, for we shall see Him as He is."
For now, though, she sits in her own little corner, in her own little room, dreaming of being a princess someday.
